About

GROUND3D is a New York City–based urban practice working across planning, data, and design. Our work supports complex projects that require close attention to place, people, and systems, and we collaborate with public agencies, community partners, and private-sector teams to advance equitable urban outcomes.

Our Approach

What Inspires Us

Our work is shaped by the cultural, historic, and social fabric of New York City neighborhoods--particularly those where economic and environmental inequities are most acutely experienced. We begin by recognizing the expertise embedded in communities and focus on bridging neighborhood-scale knowledge with citywide planning, policy, and investment decisions. Our perspective is informed by urban planning, digital humanities, and civic data, allowing us to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights.

The Value We Bring to Clients

GROUND3D supports project teams by bringing a community-centered lens to data analytics, urban and graphic design, inclusive economic development, and strategic planning. Our practice is structured to meet that need and to integrate seamlessly into interdisciplinary project teams.

Why GROUND3D

Founded by New Yorkers trained in city planning at MIT, we bring experience working across public-sector planning, civic technology, and community-led initiatives. Our team has supported City of New York projects, collaborated with elected officials, and developed tools that connect local knowledge to institutional systems. We believe today’s climate and economic challenges require new ways of producing and governing knowledge that are grounded in place and collaborative in nature—and are committed to building the systems needed to get there.
